This captivating image of John F. Kennedy deep in thought aboard Air Force One in the 60’s offers a glimpse into the styles of the era. It also serves as a reminder of what presidential leadership used to evoke as we navigate through this crazy campaign season.
During that time, it was common for commercial airliners and smaller airplanes to have curtains as a feature of the interior design. These curtains were often mounted on tracks both at the top and bottom to help maintain their position and better block light. While many aircraft interiors now utilize shades built into the windows, there is still an appeal to the use of window treatments and curtains to soften the feel of the cabin.
RECMAR Products offers a full line of curtain tracks that have been used in airplanes for years. These products were sold to the original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and are now also sold to companies that specialize in refurbishing the interiors of aircraft. Whether the refurbs are a throwback to yesteryear or modern designs that incorporate curtains, our Galietti line of aluminum extrusions are designed to meet the needs of the airplane industry and have been doing so for over 50 years. These products range from curtain tracks to panel and headliner retainers.

As football season approaches, fans begin to gear up, teams hit the practice field, and facility managers look to put touches on their stadiums. When the Denver Broncos needed curtains and hardware to conceal their concession stands when not in use at Sports Authority Field at Mile High, they turned to RECMAR Products for the ideal solution. Between games, there was a need to cover the concession service counters. This allowed the stadium to get away from their previous technique of using pipe and drape, which didn’t fully conceal the concession stands, nor provide the appearance that the organization desired.
RECMAR’s team of professionals helped the facility management team in Denver come up with the right components to meet the project needs. The curtains were fabricated using black Eclipse fabric to avoid and backlighting or shadowing that could occur with a more translucent fabric. The finish of the Eclipse fabric was another aspect that appealed to the stadium’s staff. It also helped that the curtains were machine washable as well.
Tracks cubicle curtain tracks were mounted under the ceiling ledges, allowing for the curtains and tracks to provide full coverage. The wheeled carriers used allow the curtains to easily be opened and closed, depending on needs, without the set-up requirement of the previous pipe and drape solution. The curtains can easily be removed for cleaning or replacement with minimal effort.
RECMAR Products was happy to help the Denver Broncos earn another WIN! If you need help with curtains or curtain tracks for your arena or stadium, RECMAR has the experience and capability to help earn a win for your team as well.
